Zion Lutheran Church, Boards and Organizations

STRUCTURE

The Voter's Assembly (Communicant members 18 and older) - The power to administer and manage all its external and internal affairs is with this body by majority vote.  All matters of Doctrine shall be decided by the Word of God.

The Public Minister (CALLED men) - He shall be an advisory member of the Church Council and of all Boards and Committees.

President - He is the executive lay director of the congregation's total program.

The Church Council (Board Chair from the Elders, Trustees, Mission Outreach, Education and Family Ministries, also the President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer and Financial Secretary) - To deliberate, prepare and recommend matters for the Voters' Meeting.

Committees:

The Nomination Committee - Prepare Slate for Elections

The Stewardship Committee - Annual Budget Preparations

The Financial Committee - Record Contributions

The Financial Review Committee - Review Treasurer and Financial Secretary Books

Church Staff - Vicar, Parish Nurse, Pastoral/Office Secretary, Organists-Pianists, Janitorial, Choir-Bell Directors

CONGREGATIONAL BOARDS

Elders - To assist The Public Minister with all spiritual matters.

Usher Team Leader - To provide support and order to Worship Services.

Altar Guild - To care for all Altar arrangements for Worship Services.

Parish Nurse - To care for the health and well-being of all.

Trustees - To care for and maintain all Church property.

Mission Outreach - To seek the lost through various efforts.

Education - To oversee all areas of spiritual growth.

Sunday School Superintendent - To oversee the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Family Ministries - To provide further growth for our Families.

ORGANIZATIONS/GROUPS

Women's Fellowship - To foster and support Zion's Mission.

LWML - To support the Mission of the International.

LLL #10 - To support the Mission of the International.

Youth Group - To encourage our youth spiritually and socially.

Kids for Christ - To encourage our children in the faith.

Lutherans for Life - To uphold the dignity and worth of all human life from a biblical perspective.

Memorials and Endowments - To assist with special donations.

Thrivent Financial - To provide services to members.

Seminarians - Field Education with Concordia Seminary.
